Probably a stupid question, but I will ask anyway.

Is the a preferred method on whether the fuzzy side goes on the removable object, or does plastic hook side attach to the removable object, or does it not really matter?

I always go fuzzy side on the removable object. Not sure if it matters though, but the other way is backwards.

I always put the fuzzy on the removable object, but I am usually doing multiples of said objects, and I do it that way so if one breaks, another can be put in its place easily

Loop goes on the removable item, the hook side tends to find something to adhere to (carpet, dirt, etc) when it's on the removable item. Industrial strength velcro is fuckin' awesome!

That makes sense.

Fluffy on the removable part.

(Fluffy (loop) side on your BDUs, plastic (hook) side on the patch is the .mil way)

This.  We (military) put the hook on the patches and name tapes, but I think putting the loops on the patches and name tapes would be a little smarter...  One thing you got to take into mind is how much does each shrink when washed?  If you don't prewash some things, they'll shrink on ya and get all bunched up after they're sewn to another object.

Just think about it for a minute and understand that the hook side is going to pick up more lint. Apply accordingly.

Fuzzy side on your uniform, equipment of rifle.

The hook side will hold all sorts of fuzzies, lint, strings and crap to it.

You don't want this stuff sticking to your uniform or gear.

Hook side USUALLY goes on replaceable object...just in case you want to put it on a different fuzzy surface somewhere.

There are more non-velcro "fuzzy surfaces" out there than hook.

So you're actually sticking yourself to the patch. Cool!

Damn, I gotta start previewing my posts. I meant to say fluffy part on the non-removable part. Oh well at least my example is correct.
