Wondering if anyone has tried this.. or done this? Im thinking about trying it out to see the results.. I'm 5'8 about 200 lbs. Wondering how this will go with light workouts and like 30-45 mins of cardio 5-6 times a week.

I've never tried it, would like to but it is too expensive for me right now.  However, concerning the workouts, Shugart has written on t-nation about what he recommends during the diet.  Here is the link if you haven't seen it:

Velocity Diet Workouts

Good luck if you do it, it seems like a lot of discipline to focus mainly on shakes for meals.  I have considered doing Velocity Diet light in the spring, but not sure yet.  Let us know if you decide to do it, and how it goes if you do.

The velocity diet is a major ripoff.  It's basically a Protein Sparing Modified Fast that (big surprise) makes you use Biotest supplements instead of real food.  If you insist on a crash diet you'd be much better off to go to bodyrecomposition.com and buy the Rapid Fatloss Handbook by Lyle McDonald.  I lost ~12 lbs in the first week I did it.  It can be good for kicking you ass into gear, but if you aren't careful once you're done with it, you'll gain it all back (ask me how I know).

I did a version of it last month. I skipped all the bullshit Biotest supplements and lived off of Met-RX Complete protein. I did it mostly for the ease of just drinking meals and not having to cook, etc. My lifts went straight into the toilet, I was a grumpy sob,but I lost 10% of my body weight. For me it was worth the aggravation.
I spent $300 on protein and went w/ Met-Rx since I wanted casein based so I would stay fuller longer than with whey. If I bought all the suggested BT stuff, it would have probably run me $700. Is Biotest still in business - I don't see any of their products anywhere?

Ymmv, imho, my .02, etc

ETA: I just re-read your post, and: A) light workouts are for girls, B) you don't need to do anything as drastic as V-diet to drop 20 lbs.
Cut all the bullshit out of your diet, add some cardio and watch what happens.

eeta: need more coffee this morning.

I tried it for a couple weeks. NOT the diet for me. I would highly recommend that you not use the Biotest "slow digesting" protein that is recommended. I don't remember the name of it. I drink protein shakes all the time but after a few of those I was having trouble choking them down. They taste good if you have 1...maybe 2 but they are sooo rich I couldn't stomach it after a few of them. I like my shakes a bit on the bland side.

You need to go as heavy on the weights as you can. You won't break any PRs but the heavier weights will help keep on muscle while on the diet.  Do very light fasted cardio in the morning.

any thinking person should be able to realize that you don't need to use biotest's meal replacements.

but like nick said, it's good for kicking your ass into gear and getting you started on a long road to permanent re-composition.
