Just wanted to post a huge thank you to all veterans who lurk here, all branches. Heavy shit being shot at or being around high explosives I can only imagine. Any favorite (or least favorite) stories? I know there are a lot of you here.

Thanks again for your service and bravery.    Tim

How about a shout to the vets no longer with us as well.. the below pic is of my dad  (on the far right ) and his three brothers when they returned from WW2. The one next to my dad with the  the screaming eagle patch was my favorite Uncle Lee.. always had a a big smile and a hearty laugh..after serving in Baker Co. 506th PIR 101st Abn, from Normandy to Holland and Bastogne..and the end of the war, Dad was the last of the brothers to pass away, in September 2007.

My great g-pa was volunteer Marine during the US occupation of the DR and my g-pa and father were Navy men, as was my wife's father. I should have said, both past & present. It took and takes every single vet to make it work...

That was my Godfather, Uncle John,. That  was the CBI patch, China, Burma India theater..he was a supply sergeant in Karachi, India (later Pakistan), said it was one of the filthiest places he'd ever seen.
CBI patchhttp://www.angelfire.com/md2/patches/variations/var2cbi.html
Dad's patch is Army transportation corps..he was a  90 day OCS wonder..was a cargo officer on Liberty Ships and then Victory Ships on Atlantic Convoys and then on Pacific runs..decided to stay on for 20 years in the reserves and retired in 1965 as a reserve Lt. Col.

You're welcome for my service during the Cold War.

And I wish to "pay it forward" by posting a special thanks to all of you who served or are serving in OIF, OEF, or anywhere else in the GWOT.

I salute you.

Heres to Lt Col Thomas Wren, he was in the same HUMVEE as me on 9 Nov 2005.  I came home with a broken shoulder, he came back covered in a flag.  RIP.

You are welcome! Sadly; with the commie in the WH; we are soon gonna be a dying breed; ALL OF US.

And to my brothers still out there, fighting the good fight and giving Hadji some good ole American lead poisoning; KICK ASS AND TAKE NAMES; IS WHAT WE DO BEST.

You're welcome.
At MOS school in 29 palms ,CA we were all outside the chow hall after breakfast hanging out and this group of JROTC kids walks by. One of 'em has some shiny BS on his collar and says to one of us "Don't you think I rate a salute PFC?" My instuctor (a SSGT) walks up to the kid rips that shit right off his collar and says "Fuck no, motherfucker!" They all dissappeared quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Should've told him to "grow some pubes and a pair, then get back to you."

Haze grey and underway.

In 2003 it wasn't a concern having Iraqi's this close to the truck.

I don't need no teenage queen, I just need my M-16.....And Mt Dew.   It'd be nice to have a Mk-19 that worked worth a damn also.
