I'd go with the first one - the NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400 2D is pretty darn fast. I want a GeForce3 but they're still above $300 and hard to come by.

You choices should go in this order:

GeForce 3 Ti
GeForce 3
GeForce 2 Ultra
GeForce 2 Pro
GeForce 2 GTS
GeForce 2 MX

That is fastest to the slowest, pick one that you can afford.

Go with the Nvidia board. The Kyro chip sucks.

GeForce, highest number you can afford. It is without a doubt the best out there right now, especially for gaming.

I just upgraded my video card to a GeForce2 MX 400 with 64 megs of ram.
For $79.00 you can't beat that.

It depends on what you want to do with it. For some of the real slick graphics cards, text display is an afterthought. It's usually not noticable until you're in 1280x1024 or higher mode. If you do a lot of word processing or desktop publishing (or coding), you appreciate clear text at 1600x1200.

I tried the Matrox G400 and a couple of NVidia boards last time I bought a puter, and finally settled on an ATI Rage Fury Pro because it displayed both text and graphics properly at high resolution.
