I am running Vista (32 bit if it matters) and have 4 gigs of RAM installed. My system only recognizes 3 Gigs... I had read that I couldn't use every bit of 4 Gigs, but over 3. The "sticks" are alll the way in the sockets. |

You're running 32 bit Vista. You need 64 bit vista to see all that memory. I'm also running 32 bit Vista with 4 GB of RAM. I only see 3GB because I have two Geforce 8500GT video cards, and a bunch of memory addressing has to be reserved for them. I'm about to run 64 Bit Ubuntu, so I should see all my memory then. |
