I am running Vista (32 bit if it matters) and have 4 gigs of RAM installed.
My system only recognizes 3 Gigs...
I had read that I couldn't use every bit of 4 Gigs, but over 3.
The "sticks" are alll the way in the sockets.

You're running 32 bit Vista. You need 64 bit vista to see all that memory.

I'm also running 32 bit Vista with 4 GB of RAM. I only see 3GB because I have two Geforce 8500GT video cards, and a bunch of memory addressing has to be reserved for them.

I'm about to run 64 Bit Ubuntu, so I should see all my memory then.
