| Watching the show Blacklist and they just had a Vortex scope on a bolt gun that James Spader was behind. |

Vortex makes decent optics! Eh...most of their stuff is low-mid grade is "meh" decent. Their stuff is cheaply, but sturdily made with a lot of markup. That's how they can afford the "you break it/we replace it" warranty. Their expensive, FFP stuff is very good and almost on par with high-midgrade stuff like NF and Leupold. |

I've had experience with their diamondback line and it was junk, same price point as leupold vx1 which was FAR better. I've handled PST from friends, and it was okay, but once I get in the $700 range I usually talk myself up further

I avoid everything under the Viper line. Quoted:

IMO, their higher end lines are excellent. Their mid to lower end lines are not as good as other brands in those same price ranges. Me as well I have a Viper PST 1-4 and Viper 6-20. They have been nothing but work horses since I have them in QD mounts I use them on about 15 different rifles. |
|
I wish they would lose the bronzetone color. it looks like shit on mist rifles and matches nothing. after dropping $1500+ the idea of then having to Ceracoat a new optic isn't appealing to me. I like their higher end stuff but no reason to be a snowflake with the fugly color.

And an excellent, back your truck over it, warranty to back it up. Quoted:

Vortex makes excellent optics! And an excellent, back your truck over it, warranty to back it up. This. The folks at Vortex probably think I'm a retard based on the last thing I sent in ... but they swapped out the RDS with no questions asked ... I had a brand new optic within a week. |

I plan on picking one up this year for my 300 WM. http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/10/18/best-tactical-scopes-and-reticles/ |

The Diamondback blows them out of the water. The VX1 has longer eye relief, but the Diamondback has a much wider FOV, and much clearer and brighter optics. |

I've replaced two Leupolds, a Zeiss Terra, a Burris and a Trijicon with Vortex stuff ranging from a Crossfire to the Razor. The only issue I've ever had happened like a week ago when my wife crossthreaded a cap on my Strike Eagle. |

Hummm the low prices scared me. I guess they are the PSA of scopes? I might have to give them a try. Go for it. Even their cheapest line the Crossfire is higher quality than the Nikon P-series, IMO. I've got their $100 2-7 on a muzzleloader I use for deer in Ohio. It's been banged up in the back of a UTV, I fell on it coming out of a slippery tripod stand, and I put it away for a few months without cleaning after hunting on a slushy snow day. Still working great. |

Vortex makes excellent optics! I'm pretty sure they don't make anything and contract with factories in Asia. My impression is the product isn't any better than their competition, their service is what sells their product. Yeah cool video man, but now what am I supposed to do with this erection? |

I just got a Strike Eagle to try out. Seems like a decent enough 1-6 at first looks. Quoted:

Theres that guy on instagram fighting in the ME using a strike eagle. Vortex sent him one for free after finding out. This is the one I have been wanting to try. looked thru one at the last gunshow and it was pretty damn clear for $300. I have a 4-16 PST FFP M-Rad that I love. |

Seriously, though, at that price, and if it pans out, it could end up on many of my ARs. Testing will determine. |

nice. As to the topic at hand, I have 6 Vortex scopes, and they are all awesome. I also own NF, and I have no problem recommending the entire Vortex line. I even have a Vortex on my .50 BMG |

I had no idea they made high end scopes. Used to only seeing the cheap scopes. http://swfa.com/Vortex-C1408.aspx |
