It is hard for me to believe that the Colts couldn't do better than this.

WITH Manning they were a Super Bowl contender, without him they should at least be able to win occasionally.

I feel sorry for Colts fans... the players have totally blown them off.  I hope some heads roll at the end of the season.

I've found that the more a game is 'team' oriented, the less it actually ends up being a team effort.

They hearded everyone from downtown Indy into Lucas Oil Stadium for shelter last week during the tornado warnings. It was said that there wouldn't be a touchdown there!

Poor Seahawks fans.

You'll have to tell your grandkids the story of the Seahawks year of glory...their one and only Super Bowl way back in 2006.

It's kinda like the JFK assassination... "Where were you when the Seahawks got crushed in Super Bowl XL?"

Colts just need a little Luck to get back on track.

I doubt Manning will risk returning after multiple neck surgeries. Why risk it. He could stay on as a coach and help re-build the team.

they want andrew luck, an 0-16 is the best way to guarantee a 1st round 1st pick.

they are torpedoing the season on purpose.

Google "worst officiated super bowl". The results are pretty damning.

ETA: I agree, Colts suck hard this year. They need to start searching for a pimp, not a new coach.

They have been a real disappointment to us this year and I agree with you. There is no reason for this much suck.
No doubt they were gunning for first and or second pick but this was a shitty way of going about it.

Pretty damn shitty to dive head first for 0-16, but yet piss away 2 opportunities to go 16-0. Says a lot about about how backward this team is ran.

We've not been sure if Caldwell is alive or dead the past few seasons.

Now we know

The answer is dead.

I guess the ability to hold a clipboard and not drop it for long periods of time doesn't directly translate into quality NFL quarterbacking skills.

I haven't been following the NFL this season but I just checked the standings.

Is it really possible for a team to go from hero to zero because of one player?!  I mean, can't the Colts win at least one game?

Also, the Packers are 11-0?

I too am surprised to see a team fall thIs far because 1 person is not there. Especially at the pro level.

Just how severe is Peyton Mannings neck injury/surgery? Any chance of him returning?

Regardless, he will make an attempt at returning due to insurance clauses required for payout.

Yes, it is. The coaching staff and GM were happy to rely 100% on Peyton and gave no thought to the future or injury. For those of us who payed close attention, we knew the last 4 or 5 years that Peyton was indeed the MVP of the NFL because we knew what was waitng in the background if something was to happen to him. But all we heard was "No way", "He's not that good", "One guy can't win all those games himself", "There are more important guys to their team out there" etc. Guess we knew what were talking about, huh?

So given where we are now and assuming Peyton never plays another game again - or at least no more substantive playing time - will he still get into the Hall of Fame?

Well, The Colts will now have to decide who they want to bank their future on. Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley... Maybe even Case Keenum.

Good luck to 'em.

He was more than a QB, he was the play caller and leader of the team. Might as well have fired all the coaches except for the DC and his assistants.
