A genuinely funny film that plays like a combination of Walk The Line, Ray, All You Need Is Cash (The Rutles), A Mighty Wind, Talladega Nights and The Jerk. Not only NOT a disappointment but surprisingly funny all the way through, and the music is great. Jack White cameos as an incomprehensible Elvis Presley, Frankie Muniz as Buddy Holly and Jack Black (!) as Paul McCartney. Warning to libtardphobes: John C. Reilly starts looking spookily like Tim Robbins as his character ages. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story |

Ah, then, consider it duped. Appy Polly Logies. I watched "The Unbearably Long, Self-Indulgent Director's Cut" on DVD and assumed the dick flash was only in that version. Apparently, that's not the case. It was gratuitous but I think that was the point. Or maybe Tyler Durden was the editor. At least it wasn't attached to a mouse's back. |
