Just an fyi.

I spoke to the sporting goods mgr at my local wamart.

He is begining to get more rifle stuff in, but is getting very little handgun ammo.
He also said that its interesting because in conference calls with other sporting goods managers in other parts of the country, they've said that they are getting in more handgun ammo and less rifle ammo.

So, what does that tell us?  If you cant find what you want at your local wally world, then the next one over may have what you need.

For what its worth, he said he got in 5 cases of 9mm and .45 last week and both sold out within 2 hours.  He also said that it wasnt people buying a case at a time, it was just people buying 2 - 3 boxes a pop.

America is a diverse country... In some areas Fudd stuff is popular and handgun stuff

might not be that way. Kinda hard to imagine but that's the way it go's. In my area

you can buy all the fudd ammo you want at any given time. If you have something that

shoots 357 sig, 44 magnum, or 17hmr you are good to go around here....

I find wide incosistencies locally, and there are easily 10 Walmarts within 20 miles of where I live.  I also find that nearly all Walmart employees I speak to don't have an HONEST clue about the ammo situation.  They don't know anything about what or when any ammo will be coming in.  One guy told me they get different 3 shipments per day (of all Walmart merchandise) and ammo could theoretically arrive on any one of them.

I think the distribution analyst(s) at Walmart suck if that's the case.

I know first hand and for a fact that there sporting goods folks at Walmart out there buying it off the truck before it hits the shelves.

I think the unprecedented demand for ammo has thrown all their analytical models out the window.

Why cant you special order ammo and pay in advance, so that they hold it for you to pick it up? They can do it for everything else...

Just do a search on gunbroker for 22lr.  (Itried to post some links but their photo server is down right now)

Anyhow there are a couple of folks that have been selling mass quantities of the $13.47 Federal 550 value packs

on there for 30 to 35 pucks a pop and have been getting it!!  I'm not talking about a couple of packs at a time,

they are selling case lots and many of them.  NOBODY can get that many unless they are on the inside!!!

It looks like all the current high bidders on the Federal bulk packs are all NR {non rated),  I wonder if there  are a few folks bidding the auctions up on behalf of someone.

I was at walmart yesterday when the truck came in and could have bought a whole case of value packs but I passed and took all the 9mm and 380. You just have to be at the right walmart at the right time. Old guy in SG was very nice and said they will not put a limit on the ammo like some walmarts are doing. He just told me to have a seat and would be back in 5 minutes with the ammo they just got it and it was a pretty big cart of it too.

I've known this for some time. My local wally world has only had 9mm and .22 bulk packs, but the wally world over by my brother has been getting in .45 and .223. Yeah, we've been buying out both.

yeah im buying up what i see.  Selling half on GB to pay for my ammo.  So far ive been coming out ahead of the game. problem is I cant find any more.  I just happend to stumble in when they wheeled out 5 cases of WWB 45s.  I had them just go ahead and sit them in my buggy.  I thought it would be a pain to ship the ammo but my local UPS hub is a champ.  NO issues yet and its less than 5min from me.  I sold 500rds of Blazer brass 9mm the other day for $200 plus shipping. IT WAS ONLY LISTED FOR 10MINUTES BEFORE SOMEONE USED BUY IT NOW!!!  I always start mine reasonable but will throw a BIN on there just to see if anyone bites.

If you have 20 stores and 50 cases to distribute, you do not break up the cases to give everyone a box from each case, you give 10 stores 2 cases and 10 stores 3 cases.  What they get is what they get.

That's no joke.

My area Walmart just got 44,000 rounds of Federal bulk .223 (100 round box) 55 grain hardball in yesterday.

(That's right children, 44K)

Virtually no handgun ammo to speak of.

My PD was just told we had to wait 9-10 months for our .223 order from Winchester.

So we bought 20,000 (20K) from Walmart !

Not just 1 hour ago.

Its a crazy world........
