DO NOT take this as authoritative news, but...
Windows Reports is a step up from the totally unattributed garage that's surfaced in the last couple of days. The author quotes no source, which is telling, but WR is a step up on the respectability scale for tech reporting. This kind of reporting prevents them from getting sued... MVIS Acquisition Moving From the article: "Microsoft is close to confirming the acquisition of laser scanning and 3D printing developer MicroVision, after months of speculations around the topic. According to many analysts, this is a strategic step for Microsoft, who is directly interested in licensing MicroVision’s technologies. For what MicroVision brings to the table is their patented LIDAR, the 3D sensing and image capturing technology (known as the Scanned Image Projection System)." |
