Rolex owner and dealers are often their own worst enemy, and I think most of it started when the resale market started pricing above the new market. It draws a different type of consumer. To be fair, I first ran into the stereotype even well before that. The prevalence of fakes doesn't help. I like that Rolex isn't resting on its laurels. The new Perpetual Padellone is an impressive watch. But, frankly, seeing that on someone'e wrist is very, very different than seeing a Sub or GMT Master. |

The compass is funny, it will shut it self off and go back to the main screen after only about 30 seconds. I would not use it for a dedicated GPS watch. Edit: The older B1000 Rangeman was more of an outdoor sports and GPS watch. The H1000 above is more health designed. |

I’ve never gone scuba diving and probably never will, but I use the timing bezels on my watches almost every day I wear them. |

A scary number of people wear watches for a certain "look"or "image," nothing more. It's what keeps me from more participation in the watch forum here. I think that's what drives so much of the anti-quartz snobbery and so much else. And watch sales people understand this very well. I've take to only wearing expensive and never-faked watches when watch shopping. The difference in how I am treated and what I am able to get my hands in is hilarious. I love watches, I just don't like "watch people." And, I swear it didn't used to be like this. 2020 seemed to really kick it off. |
