I'm not sure how many folks are into project watches, but I'm starting my first of, likely, numerous builds in the near future.

I'll post the current status, hoping to have the rest of the pieces to get this custom puzzle up and running!

So far:
- 1970s Elgin inner bezel diver case
- Vietnam NOS military dial
Planning on going with a quality handwind movement here.

Will let you know when I get the rest of the parts in here soon .
Hope this might be of interest to a "build" type crowd.

I had to grind down the dial to get it to fit, as it was slightly larger than the ID of the inner bezel. Should be good now, so we'll see how the movement and hands go soon!

Waiting on the movement for the case above. Hope to be making some progress soon, but just a bunch going on.

Meanwhile, I recased this 1970s day-date Wittnauer automatic (with a Longines caliber 507 movement) into this cushion-style case.
Had to extend the stem so that the push date change function would be usable. Turned out pretty decent, and (I think) looks at home in this case.

Thanks, man!
You should see the square case it was originally in (didn't have a case back so I bailed on it). And I mean literally...it was a square.
Definitely had 1970's written all over it.
