So guys, I got this new Victorinox watch from my buddy as an early Christmahaunakwanzakah present, and I dig it bigtime.  It's all polished stainless steel with a black leather band and white face...  Analog with three sub dials and the date.  The subdials are for a stopwatch function (second, 1/10 second and minute hands).

It has the rotatable bezel around the face with the minute markings on it.

My question is

WHAT do you use the rotatable bezel for?  HOW do you use it?   I've never known, and I'm curious!

Divers use it for timing dives, for one thing.

The standard rotating bezel is a time elapse ring. Put the marker on the minute hand and it will give u a quick reference on elapsed time.

Lets say you're going on a dive(scuba). You know your limit is 30 minutes. You turn the bezel to show "30" past wherever your minute hand is at right now. Its like a reminder.

hmm...  I usually use the stopwatch for time reference.  The little minute subhand only goes to 30 minutes, but it keeps going, and is marked in 1 min increments, so it's pretty accurate.  I use it when I go on lunch... I can just glance at my watch and tell how long I've been on lunch and how much I have left.

I guess I could rotate the bezel to mark where the minute hand is, and when it returns to that position, it would be 60 minutes.

Neat, but I probably won't use it much.  I was just wondering what the common usages and applications are.   Thanks guys!
