I guess all this debate hinges on what criteria you are using to determine which comic book based full feature film is the best. Many comic book movies are good movies, as in entertaining and earn a profit, and some even garner an academy award nod once in a while. But are we are talking about "best" as in best script, story, and acting? Or best as in closest to the source material?
Most of the recent comic book based movies were good, in some regards. The Spiderman franchise, X-Men franchise, Wolverine franchise, Batman (Dark Night) franchise, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Thor, Capt. America, Avengers, Iron Man franchise, all entertaining movies. But as far as best all around (acting, cinematography, closeness to source material, etc.) I would have to give my vote to

The extended version was better. The ending was less "wat" than the comic was. I need to read Before Watchmen.
VforV was good, but the comic was better. Chris Nolan Batman movies were amazing, but there are a lot of Batman comics that I'd love to see made into films. Like "Joker" with the Joker as the main character, or The Killing Joke. Sin City was good, and hopefully the sequel will be out soon. 300 was a good movie, but I thought the graphic novel was gay. Blade was a terrible comic, and a worse movie. XMEN 1, and 2 were cool. 3 was awful. |

I'll check it out.Natalie Portman is in it, its about one man defeating a totalitarian regime, on the surface it should be an Arfcommers wet dream, I think the real issue was my arrogant and declaritive post. Of course its not the BEST movie, its just my favorite. I could not watch 'sin city' -sorry. Tank Girl? no... The newer Batman movies are okay just not something I will watch over and over is all. I think this covers it.

I just watched it again a few weeks ago...I cringed...we are getting very close to whats portrayed in the film.
