Delicious, you dont really taste the watermelon at first.

I'd try it as well.

But someone will be along shortly to tell you it is not real beer since it has some sort of fruit in it.

And that or that group of people only drink Bud, Bud Light, Miller, Coors.......

Beer=Drink It

Sure I would try it.

Does anyone know if it is available at Total Wine?

Tom T. Hall disapproves.

If it was watermelon wine, however...

In Germany we went to a place that mixed their Hefe with a Banana juice. I wish I could relate in words how good it was. Problem was you get fatter than a tick in no time. I'd love to try some.

I have a Blueberry Wheat in the kegerator and have been drinking a Lime Wheat (Tequiza Clone) tonight.

Fruit Beers are GREAT!

I may brew a raspberry next.

I make a watermelon Hefeweizen every summer.   The Bavarian Hefeweizen yeast imparts flavors of banana and clove on it's own, so the addition of watermelon blends quite well.   It's a great summer time drink.  Actually, I still have a few pints left in the keg.   It has a hint of watermelon aroma and you taste the watermelon a little ways into the sip and in the aftertaste.

I've never had one "commercially" brewed like the one in the OP's picture.  If it was done right, I'm sure it's tasty.

I just did some searching and this watermelon beer is getting really good reviews on Beeradvocate. If I can find this brew, I might have to try it.

I agree, fruit beers are great!  I have a Blueberry Ale (about 6.5 % ABV) in the keg right now as well.   Delicious!

Raspberry is tasty!  You won't be disappointed.

The Lime is 6.5, I made the Blueberry into more of a session, it is only 5.5.

How is that in a Dunkelweiss?  I have one coming up and was planning on using 3068.

Hmmm, that's a tough call.  I haven't personally made a Dunkelweiss using 3638, though I think you may have just planted a seed.  I just put a Belgian Tripel in the fermenter, have an Apfelwein going and am starting another Apfelwein next week, and when the temps drop a little more will be doing my best to make a doppelbock with a kick (about 9% by my calculations).   By that point, I should have some fermenter and/or keg space freed up....   I may have to make a Dunkelweiss.

I digress...   I imagine both 3068 and 3638 would make good Dunkelweiss, but it may come down to personal preference.  I think the characteristics of 3638 would make a nice Dunkel, but I haven't brewed with 3068, so I have no way to draw a comparison.   I would appreciate knowing which one you go with and your thoughts on how it turned out.

I know beer.

I want to try what you drank!

Arrogant Bastard is so hoppy, that only a real "BEER" guy could choke it down. It is not good. It is is not great. It is a test. If you can drink the bottle and come close to enjoying it, than you like hops.
I admit, that earns you mass credibility amongst serious brewers and drinkers.

It's like chili with beans.  It's not chili if it has beans in it...It's "Chili with beans".  It's not beer if it's got fruit (that kinda fruit, anyway) in it...it's "beer with fruit"

What's wrong with hops?

Four Peaks Brewing Co makes a beer called "Hop Knot"-kind of an IPA but with serious hops and malt. Like 130IBU on the hops. Quite possibly my favorite beer..

That's for adding a piece of fruit to a finished beer.

Not for using fruit in the brewing process.

What do you think was used before they figured out to use hops?

Banana juice? Are you sure it wasn't the natural esters of the yeast during fermentation? A good Heffe has a banana flavor because of those esters.
