Great movie, watched it again for the 3rd or 4th time the other day. Who makes the 1911's they are shooting? Colt? And did the actors get formal training with them?

Director's brother is allegedly an airborne ranger delta special forces seal.

I believe the ending shootout easily rivals that of Heat. The gun play was awesome.

outstanding movie, they had to have gotten good training, formal or not, to pull of the stuff they did, they moved like a 2man team would!

It might be an assumption, but it's a good one. Most 1911s in movies are in 9mm, since 9mm blanks have an easier time of cycling the action than .45 blanks do.

It's not an assumption. Look at the guns in the movie. Watch the movie closely. It's not a .45. It's supposed to be, but they're 9mil blank guns.

That's not what the director said in the special features.

He also said it was filmed in Utah, not Mexico.

Honestly, while I like the movie greatly for its gunplay, it's dialogue is the crown jewel...

That's not what the director said in the special features.

He also said it was filmed in Utah, not Mexico.

Maybe the director's brother tossed in some tips or was a "technical advisor", but Scott Reitz did the bulk of the training.

That scene always bothered me because he never took the safety off on that galil. Even when he ran out of ammo & dropped the gun, the safety was still in the on position.
