Not even close to A-Stan.

I actually felt bad for the guy when he came on television had to tell America about the disastrous accident in the desert.  He was criticized for months leading up to that while the military was planning it and took the criticism and kept his mouth shut.

I remember in the early Carter years that my dad moved us from a very liberal small town where as he said "he was a big fish in a small pond" but that he hated all the liberalism and that he wanted to be a "big fish in a big pond" and moved us to a much larger layer of opportunity and succeeded but he hated Carter for creating the mess that caused record high inflation and that he had to pay 15% interest on his mortgage. He understood economics though and knew that liberals didn't.

Wrong.

Jimmy Carter was a America loving tard, who made dumb decisions.

Joe Biden is a self serving, corrupt narcissist, who’s intentionally doing shit to hurt America, while getting rich in the process. Because he thinks he’s above the law, and royalty, who will be ruling over what’s left.  He holds dumb positions and does make dumb decisions, but even those make him millions. He does not give a shit about America.

It was bad. Carter wasn't a bad person. He just demonstrated how bad democratic policies were. Biden is fucking evil. He/the dem party of today have the intent to destroy America no matter what it takes to do it. They are destroying America morally, culturally, and economically. Carter was the conductor of a miniature zoo choo choo train going around and and around. Regan got it stopped and back on the tracks before the destruction was too bad. Compared to Carter Biden is a demonic meth head engineer running a 100 car freight train wide open down a mountain. Brakes don't matter because he has no intentions of using them anyway.

Yes, he was a bad person.

He carried empty suitcases around to make him look like some kind of "man of the people," but we know now they were empty, and his real luggage was carried by others.

He also treated the Secret Service staff like complete shit.

Carter was a nasty, shitty fraud who fucked this country up with full blown incompetence.

That POS Biden was in Poland this morning bragging about having a border similar to Poland/Ukraine.  He is proud of millions of illegal people flooding across our border, not fleeing a war zone, or a dictator, but simply coming to this country for hand outs.

He is DESPICABLE

Nope. Jimmy Carter wasn't this bad.

Carter was the Only Democrat that never cheated on his wife.
Carter never tried to legalize Pedo.
Carter never swim Naked in front of his female SS agents.
I can't remember Carter cutting off domestic oil. In fact, he set some aside for future use.
Carter got men killed because he didn't want to go to war. Biden got men killed because he likes war.

I wish we were, but it's not even close.

Carter had to deal with the worst of the aftermath of the collapse of the Bretton Woods  agreement, closing the gold window, Vietnam, declining US conventional oil production, and the implementation costs of the CAA, CWA, etc.

The economy would have sucked those years even if he was better than he was, but none of those things posed the sort of threat current events do, and Carter's presidency wasn't considered illegitimate by half the country.

There's also ZERO chance of an 80's style deficit spending/rate cut fueled recovery on the horizon.

At least 50% of the people selected to be in government are directly controlled by globalists.  The others are either blind to it, or are actually trying to fight it.  But, those are a tiny minority.

I don't recall carter and the dems ramming through ludicrously huge pork barrel spending bills one after another like the biden era dems are doing.  IIRC the economy was tanking in large part because of the oil embargo and rampant inflation.  Maybe I'm forgetting something but carter's biggest problem is having no good ideas on how to deal with the economy.  Reagan fixed that.

At the rate things are going, we could count ourselves very, very lucky if the worst we face is to "relive the Carter years".

As bad as they were, I don't recall global food shortages during the Carter years.

I also don't recall the Carter administration making a concerted effort to completely murder the fossil fuel industry - the very lifeblood of the US economy - at the very time when war and supply constraints were driving prices up.

And as bad as Carter's foreign policy was, I don't recall his policies leading to the creation of a Russo-Sino axis that simultaneously threatened to draw Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela - three of the world's top oil producers - into that axis, as well as alienating the USA from potential allies in India and Brazil...

And we don't even need to mention Covid. We all know about that one.

It's hard to imagine a bigger clusterfuck than what we're facing right now. Really, it is. It's like someone gamed out the worst-case scenario and said "yeah, let's go there".

A repeat of the Carter era would be a mercy at this point.

We are in way worse shape than under Carter economically.  This country has piled on debt in all sectors since the 1980s, federal government, state and local governments, business, and personal. We have been borrowing from the future for 40 years in an attempt to artificially boost our standard of living.

We were lucky.  Our interest rate was 11%.  We made the seller pay the points to get it down from 12% in the fall of 1982.  We were the only people to look at the house in 6 months.  Yea, I can hardly wait for the next 3 to 5 years and high interest rates and expensive gasoline.  Thanks Joe.  Here's to you Jimmy.  You are no longer the worst president in American history.

Yep, I remember….it’s going to be very, very bad. We are in the middle of a house re-do, we are buying everything now.  Anyone else notice that the greenhouse plants are shipping way too early?

Economically, it's worse now.

There was high inflation during Carter's term, but interest rates were also high -- bad for borrowers but
better for savers.

Now there's no low-risk option for people with savings/retirement funds etc. Their savings are literally
being stolen through the money printing that's happened and real interest rates are now deeply negative.

In 1979 the inflation rate was about 12%, but the interest rate was 9%, for a real interest rate of -3%.

Today's inflation rate (the official number, anyway) is 7.9% and interest rates are 1.9%, for a real interest rate of -6%.

The inflation impact today is literally twice as bad as it was during Carter, and that's using a revised (aka rigged) CPI
calculation, so it's likely even worse.
