Had a TLR-3 mounted on an XD45 (Steves gun), and it just flopped off at the range.  It's cracked on the screw side, checked the net and found this seems to be a common problem.  Gonna contact them tomorrow and see what they can do, but don't know if I'll put another on unless they've fixed the issue.

Here's a youtube vid with same breakage...

***update***
Contacted Streamlight, new unit being sent out.  No questions asked, just send in the old one and new one will be returned.  I asked about it being such a common problem, and they said they're now using a different material.

Props to Streamlight for great CS!

I love Surefire, and have never had one fail...but I want something smaller for pistols.  Anybody know of a good SMALL light?  I loved the TLR-3 because of it's size.

I have one on my ARs too, but want something smaller for pistols...does surefire make anything comparable to the TLR-3?  If so, I'll buy it.

Does the TLR-3 have a plastic mounting set up?  That's what it looks like to me.  I have a TLR-1s for my M&P and it seems to be built pretty well.

Yeah, it's the plastic part that clips onto the rail that broke.

That's a super common problem.

Get a TLR-1 or a surefire x300

Seems to be, but the size is perfect.  Anything that size available?  I don't mind spending more.

Shit man, I hope they can replace it.  I'm surprised they didn't go with metal, it's a small light not like it's really gonna make weight an issue.

I have a TLR-1. Yes it's bigger but it won't break like that

crimson trace has a smaller light than surefire...100 lumins too.

Optics planet has them for $114 plus free shipping and if you source a coupon code you can find it for around $108

Thanks, that would be great...but it has the CT pick up the gun and it's on switch.  I hate that design, I wanna be able to turn it on and off when I choose.  It's the reason I got a lasermax laser for my LCP.

He was pissed, but is glad they've redesigned it so it won't happen again.  The one sent back has chew marks on it though.
