| Does every meteorologist have his or her own weather satellite or some radar shit of their own or what??? |

No. Most weather forecasts are based off of weather models run by various governments - there are a variety of models run by the NWS (GFS and NAM) and a few more by branches of the military. There is the UKMET by the UK, the CMC by the Canadians, the ECMWF by the Europeans etc etc etc. I think accuweather has their own model as well.
Your typical BS forecast from weather.com is likely an automated forecast based on the GFS. Your local TV met likely puts some "hands on" work into his or her forecast by looking at various models and looking at trends, what models don't work in the given scenario, etc etc. Edit for additional clarity: A weather model is a computer program run on supercomputers that uses inputs from upper level soundings and surface observations. To see how a meteorologist makes a forecast, you can take a look at the "forecast discussion" from the national weather service. Here's one for Washington, DC. http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=LWX&issuedby=LWX&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1&highlight=off |

Some news stations still possess their own weather surveillance radar systems, but like first post, the majority is regurgitated from a storm prediction model issued from the NWS.
IF you get bored, there's a website you can google for that people with personal weather stations (like I have) upload their realtime data to. You can select multiples and do your own area forecasting. Some major amusement parks and rec centers do this... Shawn |
