I got my new welltrol tank with T manifold all teflon taped and pipe dopedup all the fittings, control, relief, drain, and gauge, just have to take the old setup out and put the new in.

Current tank has a plastic barb connector in the black plastic well pipe. My new rig has a brass barbed fitting, extra long for this application. I know they don't come apart easy, any tricks? I've heard to heat it using a map torch (easily) and then just yank the old one out and slap the new one in. Is this something where I'll be really pulling and pushing to the point where my vains burst? Who's done one here?  I do commercial refer btw and this is Spanish to me on how it is going to fit together.   Just don't want to open a big can of worms here especially since my house water supply...

Pros use map gas, I use propane, it is real easy to overheat it and wreck it. Just get it warm and start with twisting it to unlock it, the start pulling it apart while twisting.
Heat the pipe and slip it on for the new one then clamps. Easy as pie. If you overheat while putting it together it kinda wrinkles the you have to cut it off and start again.
Good luck man.

I would use propane since map/pro might be to hot. The Idea is to just warm up the pipe not heat it until its soft or burning and I suggest double clamps.

It doesn't take much heat ... You can wrap a rag around it and do it with hot water.
Don't ferget to put the hose clamps on the pipe BEFORE putting the pipe in the barbed fitting. Much easier that way..

Just go slow and let the torch warm up the pipe, not burn it.  Keep the torch moving and don't let the flame touch the pipe.

Double clamp as mentioned above.

A heat gun would be the proper tool, maybe even a hair dryer. Plastic has a high thermal coefficient so it doesn't take much heat at all to make it grow.

i used my map torch, worked easier than i thought.  the new one was longer, so i cut the old one off, and heated it up, and the new brass barb insert slipped right in.   i was going to use acetylene but i was able to find a new map gas tank rolling around in my work van.

took me an hour from start to finish.  no leaks, besides the faulty pressure releif...had to use the old one.
