What gauge wire should I get for the well pump I am putting in? It will be a 110 V 1/2 HP pump.

about 180 feet total

I would use #10 for that distance and that amperage.

I would go with 10 or 8. Might be overkill

Maybe and electrician will come in and give a formula or something.

It certainly wouldn't hurt anything, probably extend the pump life.
