Ford 8N tractor - lots and lots of time on this beast
For two wheel fun a 50cc honda automatic scooter

For stick fun, 1960's Plymouth Alpine Sunbeam Fast back - I helped my dad rebuild this little car.

Now what did I take the drivers test in, it must have been the Dodge station wagon.

My dad’s 1985 GMC Sierra 1/2ton. It had the SM-465 three speed with a granny gear. That two wheel drive truck took us everywhere when hunting.

Honestly, my first driving was simply sneaking my sisters car out in the middle of the night.

I just hopped in and hit the road.

ETA: It was a blue Torino.

My moms 1969 mustang.  6 months learners permit, then free to hit the open road.

Made it almost a month I think before I totalled it.

'69 Delta 88 built to tow an Airstream trailer. 455 4-barrel, HD everything, Posi. Dad taught me everything, passing, backing, driving on snow and ice.
By the time I turned 16 I probably had a couple hundred miles under my belt. That car never lost a drag race later on.
Driver Training was in a sky blue '73 Maverick.

I learned to drive on my dads pickup truck.
It was an 84 or 83 Ford F250 diesel straight shift. I was around 9 or 10. Before that he had me bush hogging on our 65 Ford 5000 turbo.

I still have the 83 that Dad bought new.  Same transmission, 2wd.  I got stuck every time I went anywhere in that truck as a teenager...Damn thing would get stuck on wet grass.  Has a LSD too.

1932 Austin 7 - at age 13.
Cost me 5 Pounds - actually I borrowed this from my father, and he died 40 years later, before I managed to pay him back.
748 cc. flathead 4, 4-on-the -floor.
Top speed about 50 mph - downhill.
Still got laid a few times in the back seat.
'Cause I was the cool guy with a car, and no license - had to be 15 to get one.

Was a great car, till it fell over the second time.

ETA - Not this one, but just like it.
Note the crank handle, cause the 6 Volt battery was junk.
Gas was ~ $0.25 tho. For real gallons. Imperial size.

Perfected my parallel parking in front of the house in a '72 Nova - 4 spd, manual steering.
Took my test in my sister's BF's '70 Chevelle ragtop - A/T, PS, PB. That thing parked itself.

Back in the olden days, you had to parallel park to pass.

First car I drove in 1995 or 1996 was a black 1980 Corvette with T-tops, 3k original miles on the car, with my best friend and his grandpa and I almost hit a cow (open range).    This was about 1 year before driver's ed.  Drivers ed was in an early 1990's Honda Accord.  My parents paid for private lessons with one of the only places left in town who still taught with manual transmissions, it was required in my family.  I drove the aforementioned friend's pickup, a 1992 F150 Ford Flareside prior to getting my license.

I learnt on a variety of cars.  The family 04 Honda Odyssey, and my dad’s Ridgeline, and then after that learnt to drive manual on my mom’s 03 BMW Z4.  With as touchy a clutch as that has, I think that prepared me for most modern manuals!  I also spent a lot of time driving my grandparents’ Cadillac SLS, Chevy Avalanche and 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL.

1966 Ford Ranch Wagon.  Made from recycled battleship steel, powered by a 352 big block and four-barreled carburetor.

I found out it had surprisingly quick acceleration for a car that big.
