Was his coat caught on the door handle or did he look that stupid everywhere he went?
He's probably holding his phone or something similar in his hand. |

Sometimes I wake up like that in the morning and have to side tuck it like that. What, you guys don't do that?

It's just a phone in a hip holster because it's more tactical to stuff the pockets with sand for blinding a would be security threat.

It’s probably some poor trooper that got assigned collateral duty using his level three duty rig.

Possibly it is a 750ml traveler bottle of Jack Danials or a handheld radio. I am going with a radio in his back pocket.

I pointed it out to some other gun owners at the event and everyone snickered at how it looked. The guy is putting his life on the line for a solid Republican official, so I don't want to be seen as mocking the guy himself but I call him "obvious security guy" because it was very obvious with whatever he was carrying. |

From wearing a suit with a pistol quite a bit at work I can tell you that it appears the liner of his jacket is hung up on his pistol. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't think about things like those rubber grips or overlays hanging up on the liners of jackets, or carrying a pistol that reduces the chances of something like what you see in the image. This is why I always put stippling ONLY on the front strap and left side of the grip. I even had most of my jackets re-lined with a material that played well with my gear.

Bet it's his regular duty holster instead of a concealment holster. You'd be amazed how many uniformed cops don't have a decent ccw holster for their duty gun.

Maybe he wanted it to be conspicuous? Who knows. Probably an extended mag like the others have said. I suppose it could also be something odd like a tiny PCC, but that's very unlikely as that'd be an awkward way to carry it. A small messenger bag tucked under his coat would look similar, but again would be awkward. |

Looks like an UZI shoved in his belt. It goes all the way past his front pant pocket too.

View Quote That would be impressive if that is what he had. This candidate has had BLM protesters outside his personal home, has had pro-abortion protesters outside his home, just recently went to court and pissed off the abortion crowd again. So the need for heavy fire power could be justified. Part of the candidates speech was "we just won in court and currently all abortion centers in Kentucky are closed indefinitely". This event was publicly announced and anyone could walk into the room with no type of security check or screening. |

Quoted: Wonder if it’s a radio? View Quote Initially thought maybe same but silhouette look like a full size pistol is a holster not designed for CC but for open carry. Also since it's on the right side, most people being right handed increases likelihood of it being a sidearm. Sloppy for sure. Carry in a holster designed to pull weapon close into body and maybe a little high on belt, with a compact or subcompact. Otherwise use an inside waistband holder to better conceal full size firearm and or have your clothes tailored to account for carry and concealment of firearm. I know it used to be common for Secret Service Agents to do this upon hire, note sure now days. |

Looks like a paddle holster which stuck the butt out far enough that the liner of his jacket hung up it. There is some serious tardation in this thread though. |

Probably a typical uniformed cop, asking to dress down for security, and has a high retention holster on. By not being in uniform, as active shooter that would enter the room quickly wouldnt immediately identify him as the greatest threat/target. A few seconds delay in him being identified as a threat could provide him the upper hand in a gunfight.
