I remember having this discussion at work a few years back and was telling coworkers that Ding Dongs were my favorite. One didn't know what they were so I fired up the google image search and type in Ding Dongs. That day I learned not to google image Ding Dongs at work. |

Can't remember what they were called but in HS we called them ITT-burgers: chocolate cake slabs with frosting between, about 3"x3", sold in vending machines in the cafeteria.
I think Hostess was part of the ITT conglomerate at the time and said that on the wrapping. |

My wife loved the orange cupcakes. When she was preggo with our youngest, I had to run out at 3 am to buy her some at 7-11 several times.

Once every couple of years I'd buy a box of Twinkies. Not anymore.
But my favorite favorite was Mrs. Freshley's chocolate cupcakes--so much better than Hostess and Little Debbie. All that crap is on the no-no list now. |

Had to vote other because the actual Hostess recipes are not in use anymore. They are all degraded into Little Debbie quality since they've become Little Debbie. The creme filling isn't even the same anymore.

The company that owns Little Debbie used to be a client and I had to go on-site to do some training for their HR folks. Very nice folks and when I left, the receptionist gave me an entire box of snack cakes to take home as a goodbye gift.

Only one of those diabeetus cakes I still crave once in a while are the twinkie-shaped ones covered in strawberry goo and coconut. I could eat a box with milk no problem.
None of the "chocolate" covered ones appeal to me any more. Tastes and melts in your mouth like fucking wax. |
