Colt 711

I did one with a Brownells A1 upper/lower and all Colt parts.  The 20” 1/7 pencil barrel was a little spendy.  All clone correct except for the rare big head forward assist with cutout.

Kind of a A1/A2 hybrid.

In order of preference, Colt 601, 602, 604 or 603.

I rocked an M16A2 for many years.  I built up my own on a PSA OIF lower.

Mk12 mod 0 with mk262 is the business. But only 18 inches.

If it were my money, M16a2 w/M68 CCO on a gooseneck, PAC4c and a Redi-Mag adaptor.

Rock it late 90's style all the way.

The M16A4 is the obvious choice. All of the cool kids cloned these years ago. The RCO A4 is a little tricky to find but they are out there.

The USMC SAM-R is probably the coolest rifle to clone but $$$.

This is as far as I got. Had the Acog, but sold it before I had the rifle Used a Steiner M536 I had on hand. Just never got around to changing the grip and trigger guard for something clone correct.

Those A4ish rifles are sweet and totally what I’d want to defend an embassy. But to carry, plink, defend the house or just paint some tacky obnoxious style a frankengun is more fun.

A1 is a handy shooter and you can play Vietnam era music.
A4 with an ACOG is cool.
SPR has some strong vibes with it.
A2 is dumb and ugly and stupid and dumb and I don't know why people like them. They're dumb.

I was issued A1's on active duty in 1989 and in the ANG in 1992 so you could expand the play list.  A1 for looks and A4 for useful.

I like the m16A4 form the marines myself

With the KAC RAS M5 and ta031

I made one in 2010 and ended up selling it..   to make a gift to a woman. What a mistake.
