What Chromebook for my middle schooler?

The school provides chromebooks at school for work there but my kido needs one for homework, interrnet research, etc...

Leaning toward the HP14 now because it has a  larger screen and key board so it's better for reports and such.

I also like the Toshiba 2 for much the same reason and also has a good screen at 1080p but is a bit more expensive.

Lastly, the Acer 13 looks to be in the same ballpark.

Thoughts?

Alternatives?

Looking to stay between $200 - $300 tops.

I have  had several lap tops and the best long lasting one has been the acer. Going on 6 years now. All others lasted two years tops.

If you're going to go bigger screen go Acer 15. Otherwise Toshiba 2. Regardless make sure it has the largest ran option of 4g. SSD hard drive is non upgradable in Toshiba 2 heads up, but the cloud is plenty.

Whichever one that's not made in China.

I punched, "Chromebook not made in China" in a Google search....there were no responses....just a giant one of these on my screen....

I have an Asus that I bought for $160 and it is great. Spec-wise the toshiba is better and has an ips screen. Whatever you do just make sure you get 4gigs of ram.

I have the Toshiba 2 because I was tired of the screen on my Acer c720. Much better build and the 1080p is nice. Go for 4gb of ram as well.

Make sure the chromebook will do everything you want it to do. Obviously anything in a browser window is good to go.
