Not really adept at animal tracks.  But while out on a hike yesterday in New Hampshire, I noticed these tracks crossing a paved bike path.  I was thinking moose.  Or is it some strange two-toed sasquatch that I had just missed?

Actually, I think it was probably a pack of them, so it would be "Las Chupacabras."

They were probably going to kill and eat the OP had he stayed in the woods much longer.

Yeah, I was thinking moose, myself.  They were way too large be deer tracks--I see deer tracks routinely in my own area, so I am familiar with them.

When I got to the trail head yesterday morning it was still dark out.  I threw my headlamp on and set off.  A short while later, as the sky brightened a bit, I came to and noticed the prints crossing this bike path.  They were real fresh then, wet (the picture was taken later on at the end of the day).

I wonder if moose are ornery in the fall.  I've never seen one before.
