O.K. this may have been covered before.
About a year ago I purchased a new AR-15 Lower with the goal of putting together a Vietnam era rifle.  This year I saw an Ad from a large gun import company selling original Vietnam era parts kits.
Orded the kit and started putting together the lower unit.  It took me about a week because I've never done this before.  When I finished, I had 2 parts left over.  What could these parts be?
Found out if I had one or two more of these parts, my gun would be VERY MUCH ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!
What do do with these parts?   Return them to the importer?   Throw them away?  Cut them up?  What?

Thanks for any help.

I'm guessing that you got the full auto sear and disconnect. Best thing to to if you're worried about being legal would be buy an ar-15 hammer, disconnect and safety. Then take those parts and the extras from the parts kit and throw them away. Another thing you could do is offer them to someone that has a registered m16 as spare parts. I highly doubt that the ATF will be knocking down your door just for some m16 fire control group parts. You typically have to do something major to get their attention.

No biggie, just sell them to someone with an M16 or to a 07FFL w/ SOT (an FFL licensed to manufacture machine guns).
