There two different things. One is point of impact and the other is point of aim.

You are sighted in when the point of aim is adjusted to the point of impact.

I adjust my sights to get the point of impact to be where I'm aiming.

this is a military type thing for zeroing of sights

the sight poa is different aprox the distance centre of sight to centre of bore.

this takes into account the balistic trajectory of the bullet at greater distance than 25m,
check out demigod I think they have an explanation.
