I recently downloaded a movie and am trying to play it but am having some trouble. Windows media played says "the file you are attempting to play has an extention (.avi) that does not match the file format. Playing the file may resuly in unexpected behavior." then it gives me a yes/no to play the file, when I do it says codec error: use windows media player then a couple seconds of the opening credits apear untill it stops and opens a web page that can't be found, this one: http://freaktorrents.info/play/11?embedded=false
I tried to use Divix player too but it tells me "unsupported format. this vedio is in an unsupported format and cannot be played without installing additional directshow filters." I tried to install some new codec filters and nothing has changed. Any sugestions on how I can get this to work? |

Sounds like a video that is trying to cause a malware installation or trick you into downloading malware.
If it's actually a playable video I'd use VLC media player from http://videolan.org, that would likely play it. |
