That's a napalm cannister, the label shows the liquid capacity and fusing instructions.

  Thanks that's what i told him i thought it was.he has taken the cone off and said all the wiring is there with what appears to be spark plugs.LOL it is kwel isn't it.mmk

Well.....the cannisters were usually sent empty and filled either while on the aircraft or shortly before use. They should be a s safe as any empty tank.  

But it would be fun to fill and ignite!

Some of you old guys need to put your glasses on before you get your panties in a wad. It clearly says "INERT" in the top picture right above the arming instructions.

It would be fun to reactive two of these and use them as pontoons for one really big pipe bomb though.
