My computer had been on for a few hours last night when I noticed a strange smell coming from it.  As the smell became stronger, my eyes began burning and I felt lightheaded and nauseous.  It smells sort of like formaldehyde.  What is it?

Your frying the motherboard. Mine did the same thing 2 months ago. Goodluck.

Your computer might have a virus - keep your distance away from it as it might be catching.

Check the fan on your video card as well.  If the colors start looking funny that was probably it.

I think your computer is running a little too hot. go get the garden hose and spray some lovely cool refreshing water on the inside. make sure it's plugged in a the time. Problem solved.

What a fucking dickhead!
Don't listen to him, you'll fuc up your computer for sure.
Just stick it in the freezer for an hour before you want to use it, and when it gets too hot just pop it back in the freezer.

Thanks, and you're welcome!

What amateur taught you that trick?

The hot tip is that you LEAVE the puter in the frigedator, man you don't need one of those sensive CPU/RAM/video chilllers.  Everyone already has a fridgedator in theys crib.

Just get an extra long cord for the video output and use your  wireless keyboard and mouse.

Hey I was just trying to help:) you might want to try to break in your PC by putting it in the over to simulate the temperatures it operates under. just put it on the middle shelf next to the ammo everybody stores in there

damm! just used up post 223!

This Thread would be funny...If I had'nt just spent the last 48 hours screwing with a dying hard drive and then hooking up a new one.

Yeah buddy... I just love playing clone bios roulette and reloading all my stuff.

Puter runs better now, but that $80.00 woulda bought a pretty good evening out at the fun range...bummer.

We had a fan in the power supply give up the ghost and cause a God Aweful smell before it did a nosedive.

Hahaha I have one drive that started flaking out several months ago and in order for it to run right it must be installed upside down.

Then there is the power supply fan that gets monthly shots of Hornady Dry spray lube to keep it turning.

Did I mention that I'm ordering new stuff from newegg this weekend?

Shhhhhhhhhh I haven't told the Visa Card yet that it's about to get a hernia.
