Do Female Deer Have Antlers? [Answered]
Reindeer are the only deer species in which females have antlers. One reason for this is the fact that reindeer must compete more vigorously for food in the cold regions in which they live. They use their antlers to dig in the snow and expose their food source.

There are a few antlered whitetail does shot every year. It's rare, and usually amounts to an old doe(deer menopause) with not enough estrogen. IMO they're more common than people think. Most have small antlers, so trophy hunters pass to wait for a bigger "buck" and meat hunters pass because they want a tender doe.
Antlered does are usually found when a hunter starts field dressing and finds a vagina.
IA defines deer as "antlered or antlerless", not "buck or doe" because of this.
