The best" final shootout? None of the above.
The Sacketts. All 3 brothers shooting from the door of the barn, and old Cap shotgunning the young punk as he comes around the building. Then the end, everybody walking off into the sunset together. Cliche Western ending, but gold just the same. |

I was just a few drinks in when I made the poll last night. Kinda forgot about this today. Glad the thread still has legs.
The only other movie that looks like it would be anywhere close to Heat is Open Range based on the comments. I would add that to the poll if I could re-do the choices. |

I dont know if arfcom knows about Hard Boilded. It's one long uninterrupted shot. Rest of the movie is meh but this scene is worth a rental.

Never heard of it…but that Galil with a full auto rate of fire at about 230 RPM was fucking stupid. Looks like terrible movie. |

I wish I could remember the name of the movie, it was on Prime a couple of years ago.
About 90% of the movie is just a shootout between groups of people in a warehouse. The big difference between this movie and most others is that when shot people are usually just wounded instead of dropping instantly dead. By the time you get to the end, most everyone left is covered with blood, limping with leg wounds, arms hanging at their sides, etc. Definitely different than most “one and done” movies and seemed a bit more violent because of that difference. |

Might not be the most graphic, but I like Henry Ford settling resignedly down to business in "My Name Is Nobody."
My Name is Nobody 1973 (Wild Bunch Scene) |

No Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Or Tombstone?
I know the latter doesn't end with a gunfight but the last ride is pretty good. |

View Quote I always assumed it was semi and he just kept squeezing the trigger as fast as he could. Also, i'd like to nominate Grand Torino. He knew he was going to die but also that his death would solve a bunch of issues. |
