Had dinner with a friend and her son is enrolling in a tech school. We were discussing his options and it got me thinking.
Which program would be more valuable today? 20 months training, certification in commercial HVAC? Or 20 months training, certification in industrial electrical maintenance? |

I would go electrical, for two reasons.
1) It scares a lot of people away. Hell, even you aren't sure about it. Less people in it gives you a better shot. 2) It has room for advancement, if you chose to learn outside your job. You could get into automation, robotics, all sorts of stuff. |
