Haven't seen one in a while. What yall drinking these days?

I've been working on a bottle of Dewars White Label Scratched Cask. It's quite good. I've also been trying to track down The Knot, but I can't seem to find it in Pittsburgh anywhere.

Lagavulin 16 if I want some smoke

I picked up a laphroig 18 and a Glenmorangie 18 and a Glenlevit 21 that are in reserve

Hadn't had it for years prior, but I had some Crown Royal in a sipping glass the other day and I thought it was rather nice.

A nice clean taste, almost like drinking scotch, compared to the molasses sweet of a bourbon.

I haven’t had the AE rye.  I do prefer Bulleit Rye over their bourbon.

Do yourself a favor and get a bottle of Wigle Whiskey-- Monongahela rye.  It's local, truly small batch and worthy of the word "artisinal."  It's rich, smooth, and you really taste the ingredients.

Also I tried Aberlour A'bunadh, it's a rich sherry bomb of a Scotch-- tasty.  Ardbeg 10 is a deliciously fresh tasting Islay malt I had for the first time recently-- a classic I hadn't gotten around to until now.

Hard to beat the price/quality point of Woodford Reserve.

Here is a recent pic where I tried Basil Haden, and "do not want!".  Plan to try Angel's Envy next.

About $130 overpriced.  Smooth but far too uninteresting to justify the markup.

Bushmills is cheap and good enough for me.

I like Wild Turkey, Jack is drinkable.  Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition is actually pretty decent for the price but you're getting close to JW Black territory which is probably the best blended Scotch value.  I've got some Bushmills 16 that was a total ripoff--  too hot and bland for the age/price.

Noice!  That was a really impressive liquor, definitely the most expressive American whiskey I've had in that you can taste the complexity of the grains almost like you're eating them.
