not really..You can get charged with production of illegal alcohol and still get into the .mil...Its only a misdemeanor.. And you dont distill beer or wine, you "cook" the corn, thats where it gets the name 'corn liquor'.... |

Easier to make Irish Whiskey. If you can get hard barley that is fresh, take about 12 pounds and dampen it with about a gallon of water. Then spread it out in a thin layer in a dark, warm place until it sprouts. Grind it, then add another gallon of boiling water to make a porridge that is no hotter than 160 F and at least 155 F. Let is soak for an hour, then drain and wash the spent grains until you have 6 gallons of relatively husk free extract. Bring to boil for a hour, then let cool to under 90 F. Now add 4 ounces of brewer's yeast and pour into a 5 gallon fermenter. Let ferment with an air lock on the fermenter until it stops bubbling. and the yeast settles. Decant and distill. There are a few good still plans online. Age with charred white oak |
