I traded a 2015 4Runner TRD Offroad Premium in for a 2019 Tundra 1794 4x4 and driving the knew Tundra home I made a mistake...Tundra rode and handled great, but I just did not get "I am happy feeling".  I just never bonded with the Tundra, my 2005 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 was a way better truck.  Learned the Tundra JBL Premium sound system stunk, the Bluetooth for the phone was just awful, when the AC kicked on sounded like the system was pumping rocks....traded it in December 31, 2021 for a 2022 4Runner TRD Offroad Premuim and now I am happy again.  BTW, the Tundra had 38K miles on it and I got $1000 more on the trade in than I paid for it....I essentially got my new 2022 4Runner with some cash back

What Toyota has done with the new Tundra is criminal....

Our shop truck is a 2020 TRD PRO V8. Drives nice.... but my two complaints...

1x brakes require too much movement and pressure to stop to the point I don't trust them.

2x The seats are way too big and wide. I slide around in them... and I'm not a twig, I'm 6' 200lbs.

Edit: 3x I think the TRD PRO is the highest trim, and for a 2020 high trim car the sound system absolutely sucks

Now the brakes are probably fine, but coming from a sports car and compared to our Mercedes van I don't like them. On our long haul 24+hr drive in March pulling a trailer, I had to shove a pillow between myself and the door to be comfortable.... thats how wide the seats are.

The various TRD versions aren't the luxe models. The platinum LTD and 1794 edition are the top of the line models with fancy leather everything,  power adjustable every which way seat and premium audio. The TRD models are more for offroading, but they do have some basic luxury features.

I've not noticed the other issues that you're experiencing. My brakes are very firm and reassuring. They stop well pulling my large utility trailer, commercial Hustler, chainsaw, lawn equipment, full gas cans, armory of guns, my family including cat in cage, my wife's luggage, kids toys, all my power tools, bag if hand tools, socket set, camping furniture, stove, etc. I shudder to think how much weight we haul every time we drive out to our cabin.

Love the seats! Honestly the most comfortable seats of any vehicle I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few. More comfortable than our Highlander Limited leather seats for instance. We have the cloth power TRD Pro seats.

I've got a 2005 Tundra with 350k miles. Runs perfect Drives perfect,Starts perfect, Never had to do anything to it. It was my daily driver ontil gas got crazy,No way I'd sell it. Had originally bought it for one if my son's as cheap transportation, this was before trucks got crazy. He moved on to another truck, and I wound up loving it.

IDK.  It's uglier.  But more horses, more torque, slightly heavier payload, higher tow rating, more gears, more tow-oriented features in the transmission/suspension/electronics, the option for a longer bed with the CrewMax cab, etc. means that they're making small but noticeable improvements in pretty much every area of performance and capability that people have complained about.

Other than aesthetics, the only downside I know of is the lack of the 6-seat bench option.

Had (2) 2020 Tundras
1 Limited TRD OR CM (kept)
1 Pro (sold)
Bought a 2022 TRD ORP 4 Runner (our 3rd 4Runner)

Really like the truck 5.7 V8 has a lot of possibilities (transmission cooler & Magnuson might be on the list)
Lots of upgrade possibilities.
I'm 73 yrs old this year no longer needing a 3/4 ton so went down to half ton.
It needs a 6ft bed but the back seat room and front leg room is fantastic.
I can't think of anything I don't like about it other than that.

I have a 2016.

Bought it new.

In 13,000 miles both rear brake calipers seized.

In the next 30,000 miles both front brake calipers seized.

I had them replaced with after market brake calipers.

Yeah, the 2022 now has a 6.5 foot bed w/ CrewMax, which is a step in the right direction.  And yeah, Being in the back of a CrewMax is like sitting on a sofa in a living room.

Any good deals lately with gas prices going up? Taking the bus around is getting old.

04 limited V8.  Replaced o2 sensors and changed oil and tires, timing belt/pump/plugs at 100k.  Finally replaced rear drums and rotors at 150k.  Starts and runs great.  Averaged 17.5 on a road trip last week, usually around 15.5-16MPG, 179k miles on it

I’ll keep my gas guzzler 21, it is a really good truck for me, 30 something gallon gas tank and all.  I just don’t drive that much anymore.

Yea I’m starting to see inventory on auto trader for ones in my budget increase. Also seeing later years for sale for the same price as older.

Love my 2019!  Haven't owned it long enough to have any issues.

The onboard nav sucks but I prefer to use Gaia or onX for navigation anyway, so I installed this mount from Expedition Essentials.
