I’ve been pulling out of the stash for a couple of years so haven’t kept up with recent quality, who makes good 9mm ammo these days.
Prefer 124gr FMJ but wouldn’t be opposed to something else. |

I like Winchester Q4318
Federal? Though I can't say I've had issues with cheaper stuff like PMC bronze or even Blazer.
Outside of Remington UMC and Winchester White Box, what 9mm FMJ from a major manufacturer ISN'T good?
Federal, Blazer, PMC, Magtech, PPU, S&B, Fiocchi, etc are all good in my book. |

I shoot a lot of PMC Bronze. Never had much of an issue over cases and cases.

My go to brands are usually PMC, and Sellior and Bellot. The Blazer brass, UMC, and Federal cheap stuff a;ways seemed dirtier, and less powerful.

The Winchester 115 duty ready is a conical bullet screaming at 1300 fps.
I'm going to split a case soon. |

Norma 124 has been good for me
S&B

Get WOKE, go BROKE!
Never let the shit filter get full. |
S&B, AAC, Blazer Brass, Norma all have worked well for me. Whichever is cheaper at the time.

Is anything wrong with PSA 9mm?
Stand for something, or fall for anything.
I do.
Blazer and S&B are my usual range ammo.

Win Nato 124grn?

I have been shooting a bunch of Monarch steel case that is sold at Academy. $10 a box. It's good for range time.
I also like the Winchester 124gr NATO ball when I can find that for a decent deal. It's pretty spicy. |

More eastern European and eastern hemisphere ammo is coming in and by this time they’ve got their process down pat. So the quality floor is high even if the quality ceiling has lowered a bit. What I’m not happy about is steel case only being slightly cheaper than brass. Used to be steel was way to save quite a bit of $. Now I pay up for brass because the price is so close and I suppose there’s a least a chance I could use up the thousands of empty once fired cases I have when reloading during the zombie apocalypse. |
Whatever’s brass case, FMJ and cheapest.
I regularly shoot magtech, blazer brass, PMC, old WWB from Walmart and normally my reloads. Only brands I’ll 100% stay away from are ZQI and BrassMaxx. Too many issues with primers not firing, missing primers and when it comes to picking up and reloading, the brass is some of the worst I’ve ever come across. |

I always liked Speer Lawman when it was cheap.

Most anything will do for range practice. I keep my mags loaded with 124 gr Fed HST +p
For practice my choice is federal 124 if I am not shooting NATO ball or my reloads.
I shoot mostly Geco and S&B 124 gr.

Been pretty happy with this ammo, have ordered 3,000 rounds of it so far. |
Really though, in 2024, outside of the random reload manufacturers who isn’t making good 9mm? Some factory ammo may be a little weaker or dirtier but I would say most is 97-99% reliable. Buy the best deal you find and stock up.
My comment excludes UMC but we have all known that for at least two decades now. |

Anyone got any thoughts on Troy 9mm ammo .

I’ve been happy with the 124gr AAC. Only “issue” I’ve had with AAC is the 10mm in my Stribog. It doesn’t like feeding it and it a hair too long to fit in my mags easily(some, not all of it). But the 9mm has been 100% for me in over 5k rds. (Not necessarily blaming the 10mm. It may be fine and just be the gun. I didn’t measure the OAL to see if it was in spec or not but any other brand I’ve tried of 10mm has ran fine)

Been shooting a lot of Blazer Brass, both 115 and 124gr.

124 gn FMG? It’s all good, right? When I’m too lazy to reload I buy the cheapest 1,000 rounds available.

Pistol packin', Monkey drinkin', no money bum

The only 124gr fmj I buy regularly is Blazer Brass, it reliably stays subsonic in my 43X and is way cheaper than traditional heavier grain subs loads.
Everything else is just whatever I can find a deal on when I replace what I shoot, mostly cheap 115gr and cheap subs from reliable companies. |
Good news OP, lots of good stuff to choose from. My two favorites are Fiochi AE 9 and Federal AE9DP. I'm a 115 grain guy. I strive for target ammo at 1200FPS. Speer is one of my favorites but they are always more money then Federal and Fiochi.
You should note the cheaper Federal stuff is not the same as the AE9DP. For cheap ammo I like Blazer. |

Winchester M1152 or Winchester SG9W50. Big boom!

Speer Lawman

I mean, who makes BAD 9mm ammo theses days? I think the answer is probably nobody (at least amongst the remotely well know manufacturers).
Winchester USA-Forged is the only absolute SHIT 9mm I've ever bought, and I'm not sure they may it any more. So hilariously over-crimped it couldn't headspace and the bullets measured .338" when pulled. |

Lots of recalls lately. I’ve had blown primers in 556 and over pressure 350 Legend recently. They dropped the nickle plated cases in critical defense without dropping the price. Saw a friends 6ARC grenade the bolt carrier with Hornady factory ammo. |
