I’m only a few episodes in, but so far so good.

Still, given 2 trash plots, 1 might be better.

I think one is ALWAYS better, albeit, sometimes not obvious.

For me though, one stands out in my memory as having the most healthy blossoming relationship I’ve ever seen in anime.

The other doesn’t stand out in my memory at all.  Just another forgettable trash isekai with an OP MC.

YMMV.

I liked FMAB but find it impossible to enjoy because of how annoying the Fandom is.

TBF, that ranking was after just ONE episode.  The kinds of people who rate an entire show a 10/10 after just its first episode are usually fanboys of the show.  It was inevitable that it would drop after more and more non-fanboys rated it, regardless of the FMBA army.

Because of the extremely high rating I tried watching it, but I didn’t make it far.  I even tried sticking with it longer than I normally would because of the high rating and it still wasn’t enough.  It was so long ago though that I can’t even recall what the anime is about.

Another one I REALLY tried to get into because of the high rating was Avatar.  I tried at least 3 different times too.  I could never make it past E10 and making it that far was a real struggle.  It just felt too much like a goofy, unfunny, boring Saturday morning cartoon to me.

On my current job site there are times, because of the layout, that watching anime in the lab is just not happening. Thus, I'm working on my reading list.

I'm almost done with Char's Deleted Affair. It's really good.

Yup, better than I expected. Ending felt just a little bit off to me, though more importantly, I kinda scratched my head at one of the fights at the end. At that point, Rimuru is a demon lord and capable of curb-stomping anything less than another demon lord, so his fight just seemed... Odd, I guess?

I'm still waiting for a season 2 of Moonlight Fantasy. Hopefully it'll be released this winter.

The only recap episodes I can recall off the top of my head are from Naruto and that one in HxH.  Thankfully I was binge watching both at the time and could just skip to the next episode.  That would suck to watch a new anime weekly, you think you’re watching a new episode, and you randomly get a recap episode.

I can't remember which anime it was, but I seem to recall their recap episode being labeled 11.5, or something similar.

At least that way they're letting you know that it's not advancing the plot any.

Neither of the ones I mentioned. Arifureta was between 5 and 6 and Slime was 24.5 27.5 or something like that. I know there's another that I'm forgetting, that might be the one you're thinking of.

Edit: Did a quick google search. A bunch of anime has an episode 11.5.

I’ve seen both seasons of Arifureta and I can’t recall any in-season recap episodes.

You might be thinking of those mini-episodes they released between S1 and S2.

Naruto had enough episodes to justify occasional filler and recap. Hell, some of the filler was actually pretty good, and/or funny.

12 and 24 episode series have no goddamn excuse for that lazy shit. It’s not like it’s only on cable TV with no way to rewatch old episodes.

Not until it actually plays. On the BR at the end of episode 5, it says next episode: Worthless rabbit, which is ep 6, but then plays 5.5 instead.

EDIT: Found the recap episode I was thinking of. Seven mortal sins. recap episodes 4.5 and 10.5.

2nd cour of 86 was riddled with recap episodes. It was pain. When they had to kick the last two episodes back to the end of winter (it was supposed to be a fall cour) that was PAIN. But it did pay out. Holy shit it paid out. I don't know how much of the extra time they actually used but they sure as fuck delivered.

Watched episode 490 of One Piece last night finishing the Navy Headquarters/ Asce Rescue arc.

I started the next trash isekai with an OP MC on my list (Black Summoner) and within the first 10 minutes I was blessed with the auditory butter of the Dub Queen voicing a secondary character.

So far the anime is okay, but I will say it was kinda annoying when the MC bought the elf slave…

Still, not as bad as the fight scenes in the last 1/3 of So I'm a Spider, So What?

Watched an episode and ended up binge watching all 13, really enjoyed it. I thought it was going to be a Yawara! ripoff but it was it's own thing and I can't wait for the next season.

I watched it - it was generally fun and OK (‘wholesome’ in the original sense of the word) and I learned a few things about karate along the way, even though I typically don’t enjoy sports-themed anime.

Wholesome is wholesome.  Nor you, I, or anyone else get to change that.

What you’re thinking of is “wholesome.” A joke which sprung from one of our regulars referring to an anime which involved underage girls being sexually assaulted, underage girls being forced into prostitution, children being bullied so much they off themselves to escape the torment, etc. as “a wholesome anime.”

At first people thought he was being sarcastic.  Turned out he wasn’t.  Which of course made it even funnier and more memorable.

https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2023/04/10-1/monster-energy-takes-on-pokmon-monster-musumes-trademark-in-japan-it-wasnt-very-effective

Japanese website Automation Media revealed that Monster Energy opposed the trademarks for two Pokémon games, Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Sun and Moon, opposing the “monster” portion of “Pocket Monsters,” the name the franchise has had in Japan since 1997. According to the public registrar of trademarks and patents in Japan, J-PlatPlat, these oppositions failed and Pokémon was able to keep these trademarks.

But it wasn’t just Pokémon, Monster Hunter and Monster Strike that Monster Energy opposed, it was also the hit manga and anime series Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls, whereupon many aspects of a multimedia franchise, Monster Energy opposed the use of the trademark on futons, cute anime figures and body pillows. Yes, including that seven-meter-long pillow of Miia.

Hmm. Seems like they’re just shotgunning. Doesn’t appear that any of what is mentioned is a competitor or utilizing monster energy’s market, likenesses, or related IP. Also might be interesting to see how Japanese courts handle this kind of dick swinging since I’m assuming this is all filed in Japan vs here (at least that’s how it seems in the article).

J-PlatPat allows complainants to confirm 134 complaints against Monster Energy Company at this time.

There are many trademarks in Japan that include "Monster" or "monster" in their names. Although Monster Energy Company has filed numerous objections to such trademarks in the past, none of these objections have been granted by the Patent Office at the time of writing. The latest opposition published on J-PlatPat was decided by the Patent Office on November 17, 2022.
