Don't know if this has been posted yet.  Did a search, but found nothing.

I even looked up the answer and was still like.

I'll give you a hint, narrow it down by limited day/month possibility (second half of the first statement), and then go from there.

Here you go, extractr, since its so hard to post the content in your pathetic OP.

The day before she's all pissed off that nobody remembered her birthday because she wouldn't come straight out and tell people when it is.

This is the correct answer.

I solved this on Monday (well, I read the solution at least) when my mom sent this problem to me.

No wonder Asians are better at math.    They are solving stuff like this, while my wife who helps out at my son's school says many kids have problems with 2x2.

Out of ten dates, the day ranges from 14 to 19 with only 18 and 19 each occurring once. If the day of Cheryl's birthday is 18 or 19, the Bernard would have known when Cheryl's birthday is since Cheryl has told him the day of her birthday.

He would not know the day. He would have narrowed it down to 2 from 10.

Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't see how this is true, and the solution hinges on it.

If Albert is sure that Bernard doesn't know, then he knows for certain that he was not told 18 or 19. The only way he could know that is if he (Albert) was not told May or June.

Hearing that Albert knows Bernard doesn't know, he now knows it's either July or August. The only way Bernard can know for sure now is if the number is 15, 16, or 17. This rules out 14.

The only way Albert can now know for certain is if he has the month with one possibility (July) and not two (August), which leaves only July 16th.

I can remember doing puzzles like this in 4th/5th grade.

Things like; Billy lives in a red house, his neighbor owns a dog, Mary has a blue car and prefers 1911 over Glock, ... Does Billy like beans in his chili?

If it is May 19th, the guy who only knew the number would have got it right away. There is only one 19th listed.

I looked at the choices and immediately noticed that May 19th was the only date it could be if one person KNEW the number and the other KNEW thew the date.

Edit for stupid.
