Army, because I hated school and couldnt stomache the thought of college(funny how I'm doing that now and I was right all along), went to bosnia, made up for being related to the phrench by participating in the invasion of Iraq, killed a few camel spiders, left some bootprints in the asphalt in Fallujah.

USMC.  Picked them because I was too good to even consider being a squid, zoomie, or a army of one.

Some things that happened

Had a complete achilles tendon rupture, never could run good again afterwards, so I was medically discharged.  Also got screwed over on my corporal promotion because of the injury, took a request mast to fix that little problem.

Got to do a lot of cool working parties and volunteer stuff when I was in tech school (concert security, holding name signs for PGA ad LPGA, nascar security, won luggage on price is right, got to be a physical education teacher at 29 palms elementary school).  Duty station was MCB, Camp Butler, Okinawa Japan.  Got to participate in Cobra Gold 2003 (thailand).  Other than that I never got deployed.

Joined the Navy,

did boot camp at Great Lakes,

went to Dam Neck for OS A-School,

was headed for the Kittyhawk,

wife OD'd and slit her wrists,

had to get out and take care of my daughter.

Got divorced, and got custody, but I'd always dreamed of being on a carrier and intended to stay in until retirement. I never even got on a ship. I saw some one weekend, and I saw some jets at NAS Oceana, but it still bothers me that I couldn't/didn't stay in. I just couldn't leave my two year old daughter with that suicidal psycho.

11B in Korea

The most memorable experience I had was seeing what units the Army assembled out of a bunch of reluctant soldiers, substandard equipment, and vehicles in a state of disrepair in order to slay the communist juggernaut be sacrificed on the alter stupidity in the event of an invasion.

US Army 54B10.  1986-1992.  Why did I get in?  President Ronald Wilson Reagen.  Why did I get out? President William Jefferson Clinton.  Or the thought of serving under him.

Yes, I met my Commanders in Chief, save Clinton.  Would I do it again?  Depends on who is the Chief Executive.

Things that happened?  Little terrorist bullshit but seeing how RWR did a smack-down in Libya and how we mopped the floor with Central American communists, things were great until Hussein decided to stake a claim to Kuwaiti oil.

Served 6 years in the Army, (Military Police Investigator) 3 tours in Korea with the 2nd MP Company, 2nd Infantry Division. "Second To None." I wanted to study Korean and TKD overseas.

Part of the MP Station was blown up when a grunt threw a hand grenade in the front door. Several defections on both sides. One US Soldier who defected was found dead floating in a river. Ambushes, fire fights all along the DMZ. North Korean Special Forces tried to take the South Korean Presidential building in Seoul, all killed. Racial shooting on the M16 Range, four white soldiers killed. And the list goes on and on...

I always wanted to be a paratooper. I grew up playing war and we used to watch old war movies every Saturday morning then act them out the rest of the day.  I even made a rig to simulate a tree landing. I would hang in there like a dead trooper and then when the "bad guys came", I sprang to life and killed all of them with my M1 that looked suspiciously like a baseball bat pointed backwards.

One day I decided to enlist and it was the best job I ever had.
