I am eating a vending machine tuna croissant (first mistake) and I bite into a big hunk of stringy celery, Damn I hate the stuff. The flavor is like eating the ass from a goat. (not that I would know. |

Do you know why all the cans of soup have tons of celery in them? I have a relatives who works for campbells and I asked her: "It is a very inexpensive filler that is low-calorie so it allows us to make soup cheaper that is still filling and has lower calorie/fat content." |
I realized my first mistake was a vending machine tuna sandwich, but sometimes you're limited to choices. |

I like celery and actually it is one of the few foods that burns calories while you eat it. To digest it you burn calories. It is very good for you. I eat it with peanut butter all the time, ranch dip too is yummy. I also put it in tuna salad or chicken salad and in any soup I make. |

It's almost impossible to cook Creole/Cajun food without celery. Part of the "trinity" along with onion and bell pepper. Real deal French food uses "mirepoix" which is onion, celery and carrots. I like it cooked, but I don't care for raw Edited to add: A vending machine croissant sounds WAY more disgusting than celery! |
File` is an alternate thickener to gumbo. The high class thickener is roux but when flour is rare, powdered sasafrass leaves (file`) was used. Celery is also required in etouffee. This is actually the "father" to gumbo, the latter being a creole implementation using orka. Gumbo is the creole word for okra. No, I am NOT Cajun or even French. I just like the food. |
I love Celery. crunch, crunch, crunch. good stuff! |
Apparently everyone but you. www.eas.asu.edu/~nfapp/commodities/table/celery.htm |
Actually, I have heard from different people that it is a "Negative Calorie" food it has little to no calories that it burns more calories to eat it than it gives you back. Cool! |

Celery is M-Mmm good Soups, salads, snacks... One thing about being a survivalist you can't be picky about what you eat. Although it actually cost you more calories to process it than it is worth, nutritionally speaking. Celery, carrots, dressing and hotwings always go together and with peanut butter it's a good snack. |
I put celery in my garden salad everyday!
