I have subjected a few of my liberal friends to that particular TEDx talk. While the presenter focuses on the 'legitimate use of force' by the democratic nation state it is still an interesting and informative speech - useful for opening pacifist eyes.

Very easy to make the transition from "between nation-states" to "between me and the guy who wants to kill me for my wallet." But most of my liberal friends aren't willing to make it so...personal.
