Because the GOP made a calculated decision to ignore and marginalize the Tea Party movement.

Could have been embraced but they still don't understand what happened. The GOP and the establishment (R)'s are convinced that everyone will get on board once Romney is anointed at the pep rally in Tampa later this year.

I don't see it.

The tea party movement was a huge success without GOP effort. Question I have is where the hell did the tea party go? We have a huge opportunity to take the  senate and the tea party is as quiet as a church mouse. Maybe it was a one time thing. Makes me very sad. Don't blame the GOP

The GOP is toast. It will be lucky to survive this election, it will never again be relevant after the impending defeat come Nov.

Dems are the party of big government where the welfare (dollars stolen from most of the working - W2 and self employed mainly) goes to near half of
the country in exchange for the votes in order to keep the game going while those at the top keep their advantage.

GOP is the party of big government where the welfare goes to the very upper classes, corporations and the police-military-industrial complex. It's a little bit more elaborate in that more people have to be conned into believing they too can succeed and join the ranks of the ruling oligarchy (or at least ride the coattails) rather than resigning themselves to a life of welfare dependence.

So of course the tea party was ultimately marginalized as it stands against the interest of the establishment. Maybe we'll get lucky and a third party will emerge.

But I doubt it.

Honestly - this would be good for the country.

True constitutionalists from both parties need to get together and form a party of Freedom.

Right now,  the difference between R and D is nothing but "who you wanna pander to?".

I won't vote for either of them. I didn't vote for Obama or the other guy in the last election, either.

Some of you might call me a traitor.  To you, I say, buy a bus ticket and come tell me that in person, so I can can spit in your face and pinch your manboobs, you ignorant fuck.

I've been following Dick Morris's lunch alerts, a bunch of polls, and other "been there done thats" for a while now. Say what you want about Morris, but the guy has a long resume of putting people in elective office, he rescued Clinton after the 94 debacle, (IIRC did so for him when he was governor as well)- he's polled the American voter off and on for decades. He's got knowledge and experience. He believes Obama is toast. His support is down with all but one* (and I'll let you guess what group that is) voting block.

At the very least, Obama's in trouble. The people who publicly don't seem to think so? Mostly consist of talking heads  that live in the northeast and have precisely dick in the way of campaign experience, left wingers who are trying to protect their messiah, and tinfoilers who think their own lack of enthusiasm for a particular candidate or two means the electorate is going to go towards Obungo.

We were told "20 years of liberal rule" in 08.
In 09 NJ and VA went republican.
in 2010 the house was taken over. I remember seeing media outlets saying that if the republicans gained 25 seats- that event was unlikely but awful. 63. Nice guess guys.
In 2011 the only areas that the left won, were ones where they outspent opponents by a huge margin, and Obama *STAYED AWAY*. The guy is a poison pill, every democrat in close swing districts knows it. They've had him stay away since 2010.
In the polls that matter Odingus hasn't looked so good.

Maybe I'm just young, mid 20's, but I don't see the long term plan the gop's got, it just seems to be more of the same year after year. It really feels like a death spiral to me, I don't want to be pessimistic about it but it's just hard not to be. Is there hope that we see a real social reform within my life time? I'm just not sure.

Dick Morris, Carl Rove and the other establishment (R)'s have no idea what the Tea Party movement is about. Rove had a shitting hemmorage when his boy in DE got shot down. That is what it's about, we will put our candidates in and they might friggin lose but they are of our choosing and not the establishment.

They have no clue, no one is going to rally behind Romney, they will stay home.

The Tea Party is smart enough to know how to keep score and the game has already been played.

Those men did have behind the scenes roles in the 2010 congressional elections, a major dynamic of that race was the energy of the Tea Party movement. I'm willing to bet they have a good pulse on the impact it had on the race .
Rove had a shitting hemmorage when his boy in DE got shot down. That is what it's about, we will put our candidates in and they might friggin lose but they are of our choosing and not the establishment.
I believe you're talking about Castle? I was not thrilled by that man, but the Tea Party's moral high horsing got us Christine O'Donnell. Question, did we carry that state? Oh, oh no we didn't.. Wait you mean, very republican ideals don't fly that well in more democratic districts where wins over democrats would have been enormously helpful? Say it ain't so!
For shit's sake electing republicans in areas with blue voting blocks means those candidates won't have the ideological purity of a southern house of reps member. It sucks but it's a reality we have to deal with in order to be the majority parties in the legislative branch.

They have no clue, no one is going to rally behind Romney, they will stay home.
I'm not thrilled by Mittens, but by all means if you'd rather have Barack Obama: Jimmy Carter 2, win reelection to "prove a point to the mann"? By all means, go ahead.

The Tea Party is smart enough to know how to keep score and the game has already been played.
Apparently, some on the web are telling me they're going to prove their ideological purity by allowing Obama to be reelected. Yeah, they'll show "the establishment", whoever that is
This is the voting equivalent of running away from home.

I'm sorry if you felt personally attacked by that, but the gloom and doom stuff is infectious. If we're going to beat Obummer we have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.
