Hi. I have an old Sony Computer running Win 2K Pro and I need to figure out how to eliminate all of the unneeded processes running on the system. Thing is I need for it to be permanent, not something I have to do each time I start up. I thought it was done with ctrl+alt+delete, But that yields no options for process cleanup. Any suggestions?

Thanx.

Good point there...

I didn't even think about the rogue processes that could be running.

Also look in the Component Services snap-in (under Administrative Tools) to turn off any services you don't need.  Be sure you know what each service does before turning it off, you can render your OS unusable very easily.
