I bought a Defender years ago and was wanting to put a scope mount on it.  I did some searching for "no gunsmith" style mounts, and the two I found (Redfield and Tasco) both seem to have two holes for attachment.  But I only have one hole on the side of my receiver.  What am I doing wrong here?  I remember years ago when I got the shotgun it had a mount that just used the one hole.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a saddle mount from B-Square on my Rem 870 which uses two holes, are you sure from the pictures that their not just showing you a Remington mondel mount?

It is possible - on the CDNN site it showed a Redfield mount for the 1400 Defender with two holes - but no pic of the Tasco mount for the 1300.

Check the Aimtech. Brownells has them. Shows a listing for the 1300 and a picture of a mount with one hole. I have one on my 870 and it fits really well with no slop. You can email or call cutomer service. They are very accomodating and will answer any questions you might have.
