I am playing around with 2003 server and have a few questions. I tried to add a domain user group to the Administrators local group. When I try to do it from the local machine I click on the location button but only see the the name of the local machine. I cannot see or select the domain. When I remotely manage the computer from the server I am able to add the domain group to the local machines Administrator group. But a few seconds after doing so that name of the group shows up at a head with question mark icon and then a string of digits. I do however gain the access priveledges that I desired. So anyone know why the name is showing up funny and why I am unable to see the domain from the local machine? My second issue is during logon. It comes up saying applying personal settings which lasts abnormally long. I know at work logo happens very quickly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
You rock! Thanks! I didnt have the DNS on the local machine set properly. I had it still pointed at my router. Now everything comes up quick. I'm going to setup DHCP next :) |
