Computer starts, then it brings up black screen with Launch Startup Repair and Start Windows Normally. When I launch repair, the blue screen with Driver_Irql_Not_Less_Or_Equal shows up.

Any ideas?

Windows 7 Home.

Thanks

Edit:  I don't know guys.  Now, the damn thing is working.  Removed the memory (2 slots), put one in the other spot, tried to start it.  It ran some kind of diagnostics to no avail.  Put the other on in.  Now it's fine.....

Had this happen to me about a year ago.  Had to reinstall from back image.

I'm not sure what it is.  Googled it last night.  Will mess with it today.

I can't tell you unless you provide the dump file.

Not sure what that is.  Reset the memory.  Booted to last known configuration and it is still coming back to Recovery screen.

wimFsf.sys popped up earlier.  Now Ntfs.sys

Pepper your angus. Sounds like You need to start over.

Unless you absolutely need windows, i suggest downloading Linux. I put it off for years.

Windows 10 pissed me off. I upgraded and ran like shit. I reverted, it ran like shit. I attempted to install from scratch, three fucking times, and it ran like shit.

I downloaded Linux Ubuntu, stuck the USB in and bam, it ran just fine. It installed in a few minutes and everything worked perfect, no missing drivers, no endless updates, no bullshit. My laptop runs better than it ever has. I highly recommend switching.

Now I will have to install windows again to run automotive programming software. Linux asks during the install if you would like to partition the hard drive and I am going to only use windows for the programing. If you are just using your PC for surfing, spreadsheets, emails, etc., give Linux a try.

I think it's dead. It won't even boot in safe mode. It just brings up the recovery screen.

memory going bad is not uncommon ...  get a new stick or 2 and just replace both of them and have a spare

I'll do that.  Take it from 4 to 8 gigs.
