| Why does Windows feel the need to notify me that I plugged something into my computer? Do they think I mistakenly plugged in the earphones or USB device? |

There are some operating systems (Windows 7 and Windows XP) that let you know whether the device you plugged in is recognizable or not. Bend over, reach down between your legs and pull your panties out of the bunch. You'll feel better. Panties are not bunched. I understand letting me know a device is not compatible but it is silly that they feel the need to let me know I plugged in ear buds or a microphone. |

It's mostly to let you know that the device was successfully (in theory) powered up and the driver loaded. This. It takes time for devices to be recognized so they don't want you to try and use it before it is ready. Sometimes new devices need a little assistance. Plus it is a safety feature to prevent someone from plugging in devices without you knowing about it. |
